Welcome to this CRRA subject guide on Religion (specifically Catholicism) and Citizenship. This topic pertains broadly to the relationship between religion and national or ethnic identity. The term could be related on the one hand, for example, to distinctive ethnic experiences and practices of Catholicism, and on the other, to anti-Catholic materials which at least tacitly question the national loyalty of Catholics. It will connect the user with electronic collections from CRRA institutions, to links that will search the Catholic Portal for relevant materials, to official Church teaching, and additional reliable information on Catholics as citizens from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown University. We hope you will find this guide useful.
